The title, and subtitle are from an article by Allen West, saying:
There are some things we who have honorably served in our military despise. Liars and cowards are at the top of that list. And it is even worse when the two are combined. We hate it even more when there are those who dismiss such abhorrent character traits when it's politically advantageous. The hypocrisy is maddening. Such is the case with the progressive socialist left, the Democrat Party, and it is being revealed before our eyes in the selection of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as the Democratic Party nominee for vice president.
There's been a lot of talk about this, so, let's review exactly what's being said, what's been proven and by whom.
Claims and Accusation
On Walz’s War Stories noting that Walz has been living the lie for so many years he's been "carefully massaging his phrases to make it sound like he had been in a war zone." He quote hims from a 2021 speech saying:
“In the years after that classroom, I had the privilege of serving in this state’s national guard. I stood one night in the dark of night on the tarmac at Bagram Air Base and watched a military ramp ceremony–a soldier’s body being loaded onto a plane to be returned home.....”
There is a bit of a problem with all of that. The fact is he's attempting to tie together two separate circumstance to give the impression this occurred while he was in the army at the time, and in a war zone as a warrior. It wasn't. As points out:
There are two problems with his statement. By saying that he had the privilege of serving in the National Guard and then telling the story of watching a military ramp ceremony implies that the two are related. That was his intention, otherwise he would have noted his time in Congress during which he attended a military ramp ceremony as a member of a delegation. Instead, he wanted listeners to believe he was with the National Guard while in the Middle East watching the ceremony.
He claims his rank was that of a Command Sergeant Major, the senior most enlisted rank. He wasn't. In point of fact his “rank was reduced to master sergeant since he did not finish the requirements to retire as a command sergeant major. Despite this, he has boasted about retiring as a command sergeant major on multiple occasions.....”, all which the Kamala's team of white washers are trying to erase. That's not likely to happen.
He falsely claimed he was an Afghanistan veteran. When it came time to honor his pledge to deploy when the time came. He broke that pledge.
His Defenders
His defenders are the nitwit media, who are incapable of finding one fault with this man, and some of the most corrupt politicians of the left. None of whom have ever served at all trying to ell those who have served what's real about military service. And apparently it's gotten so bad Walz won't even defend himself. How telling is that?
Make no mistake, all this deflection and lies will not fool the veterans. Tim Walz is an indefensibly dishonest person.
His Military Comrades
One of the things that must stand out to even the most casual observer is that the internet isn't aflame with defenders who served with him. Why? That's not what happens with vets. You attack one of their own with false accusations regarding their service, and they come out of the woodwork in their defense. Which make this question by Derek Hunter so profound. Where are the defenders who served with him?
You can tell when someone really nails a politician by the way no one tries to defend them. Most consultants will tell you that you shouldn’t let an attack go unanswered, but those are generally false attacks. When someone really rhetorically punches a candidate in the nose, the guilty slink away and hope the issue fades. If that candidate is attacked unfairly, the airwaves are flooded with friends and colleagues, provided by the campaign, to defend them. That no such defense of Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has been forthcoming on his stolen valor allegations.............I have seen plenty of people who served with him supporting the allegations – he must not have been a very popular leader – but nothing in the other direction. That’s not a coincidence..........
His former battalion commander degenerates him. The man who replaced him calls him a traitor and military imposter. Instead of his peers and former comrades lighting up the internet in his defense, they've accused him of cowardice and embellishment of his service.
Tim Walz -- conduct unbecoming - August 13, 2024 by Frank Ryan -For me, as a Marine veteran of almost 40 years, Walz’s conduct violated every principle of leadership that noncommissioned officers, staff noncommissioned officers, and officers hold as bedrock to their service to our great nation.............. It was a test of character that he failed. He chose to retire rather than honor his commitments to his soldiers, his command, his state and our nation. He does not deserve a second chance to fail us again -- this time at the highest level.
Walz's view of the National Guard he trained? They're nothing but a bunch of '19-year-old cooks'.
He spent 24 years training young men and women and never got them
qualified to be solders? Did I get that right? If so, then we can
believe it when his comrades say after he attained higher rank he was a
loser failing to complete his responsibilities over and over again. I
think we can be assured that when he says he got far more out the
National Guard than the National Guard go out of him, that was more than
true.
So, does all of this disqualify him as a Democrat VP candidate? Under normal circumstances I would expect to see an Eagleton affair,
but the fact is Kamala and Walz are like two rotten peas in a pod of
corruption and lies, so if you get rid on one, why not the other?
