Chaos and Order

By Rich Kozlovich

On May 14 Allan J. Feifer published this piece, Out of chaos—a new world order saying:

Watching President Trump speaking from Saudi Arabia, I almost felt sorry for a moment for our enemies. They must ponder how to stay relevant as the world seemingly metamorphizes before them, powerless to stop the transformation. In his speech, the President said something so powerful yet unconventional that I had to stop and consider why he was the first leader of our country to say it......... Trump’s speech in Saudi Arabia reveals a world vision that operates on shared prosperity, not the leftist and realpolitik shibboleths of failed post-war policies.

While much of what he said is relevant, it’s impressive, it’s good at heart, but much of it is foundationally flawed logically and historically.

There really are “forever enemies”. As long as Islam exists, it will be at war with Jews and Christians primarily, but also all other religions, or any secular forces that reject Islam, including the different sects of Islam who consider each other heretics, and the Koran demands the killing of heretics. That’s a foundational truth based on almost 1500 years of history that’s incontestable.

Islamists may be forced to retreat as it did for the last half of 19th and first half of the 20th centuries, but that’s what Islam does in order to realign itself, in order to start all over again.  Bush called Islam a religion of peace, and now it would appear Trump is embracing that in principle based on economics.  If he truly believes that, it's a mistake.

But, no matter what people demand, perfection isn't an option.  The best we can hope for is the most acceptable imperfection, and in politics, finding the most acceptable imperfection often times isn't choosing between good and bad, but choosing the most acceptable bad in hopes of creating some kind of order out of the chaos.
