Women in Combat

By Rich Kozlovich

I recently posted a piece about how the left is "outraged" at national security leaks and are demanding Hegseth resign.  I also pointed out that's not what really upsets them.  What really upsets them is he's dismantling all the social engineering schemes the Democrats have been imposing on the military over the years.

How did anyone ever get the idea the military was a social experiment?   Until recent decades even the Democrats were under the impression the military was supposed to be hard and tough, and it was their job to blow up a lot of stuff and kill bad guys, and the military needed hard tough men to do it.  But the left contaminates, corrupts, and destroys everything it touches.

Let's go back some years and take a look at one DEI insanity, women in combat.  On December 4, 2015 Dale Hill posted this article, On women in combat, let the other shoe drop, noting is was Obama appointee Secretary of Defense Ash Carter who opened all combat roles to women.

One of the constant themes by the left is Hegseth isn't qualified to be Secretary of Defense, and touted by people who are totally unqualified to judge, such as Sen. Mark Kelly, Senator Mazie Hirono, Tim Kaine, Gillibrand, Pocahontas Warren, and the one I really liked best was stolen valor Senator Blumenthal who claims Pete is so unqualified,’ it’s almost a ‘joke’, completely humiliating themselves.   Then of course there was the most "qualified" critic of Hegseth of all, that domestic/foreign policy genius, Whoopie Goldberg, who is absolute sure Hegseth "clearly knows nothing about the military".

A man who earned the "Bronze Star.[he's authorized] to wear the Joint Service Commendation Medal, two Army Commendation Medals, three Army Reserve Components Achievement Medals, the National Defense Service Medal with a Bronze Service Star, an Afghanistan Campaign Medal with two campaign stars, an Iraq Campaign Medal with two campaign stars, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal with “M” Device, the Army Service Ribbon, two Overseas Service Ribbons, the D.C. National Guard Emergency Service Ribbon, a NATO Medal, a Joint Meritorious Unit Award, a Combat Infantryman Badge, and an Expert Infantryman Badge is unqualified and knows nothing about the military, but every leftist seemed to think Obamaton Carter Ash, who was destroying the foundational principles of the military was qualified to be SecDef.  Imagine that.

Well, lets take a look at women in combat.  In 2013 now passed Walter E. Williams, posted this piece, Fact-based reality about women in combat saying:

A senior Defense Department official said the ban on women in combat should be lifted because the military’s goal is “to provide a level, gender-neutral playing field.” I’d like to think the goal of the military should be to have the toughest, meanest fighting force possible. But let’s look at “gender-neutral playing field.”

He goes on to show that with stunningly few exceptions women simply don't have the same physical capabilities of men, and can't pass the same physical requirements the men must meet, and it's genetic, men and women are not the same.

Women suffer injuries at a much greater rate than men, they can't march the same distance as men, and if they're injured and exhausted they represent a significant danger to the men, since in no way will they be left behind.  They're under strong, and they're three to four time less deployable compared to men.  And based on natural differences between men and women, the men are ten times more aggressive than women, an important quality in combat.

Providing "a level, gender-neutral playing field" isn't what the military is supposed to do.  Hegseth is dismantling all this DEI nonsense, and doing so by firing a lot of top brass that embrace it.

  • Women and the ‘therapeutic military’ - The left has been outraged about women being busted from their command, but women personalizing the military is a serious problem. .......Democrats have been outraged that the new Hegseth-run military removed two women from their commands, one for refusing to put up pictures of the new President and Defense Secretary and the other for publicly disagreeing with administration policy. Both, of course, open violations of the chain of command and perfectly legitimate reasons to remove or demote a person.............

Trump has not only fired the chairman of Joint Chiefs of Staff, he's dumped the Chief of Naval Operations and Air Force vice chief.  The purification of America's military has begun, Hegseth is imposing a hiring freeze,  and laying off a lot of people at the Pentagon, and the CIA is heading for the largest firing in fifty years.  That's what they're really upset about.

Leaks, We Have Leaks, We Have Lots and Lots of Leaks

By Rich Kozlovich

Yesterday it was reported that one of the senior advisers, and personal friend, of Secretary of Defense Dan Caldwell was escorted out of the Pentagon by security and placed on administrative leave over the investigation concerning leaks.  Today it's being reported two more senior advisers suffered the same fate.  Deputy Chief of Staff Darin Selnick, and Colin Carroll, who worked as chief of staff for Deputy Secretary of Defense Steve Feinberg, and CNN is reporting what this really is all about is power mongering over conflict with Hegseth's Chief of Staff Joe Kasper.  But that came from CNN, and when they're not deliberately lying, they're invariably wrong, so I give no credence to that at all.

These are serious allegations, and you just don't throw people under the bus with these kinds of allegations, it destructive to morale, and crushes any sense of loyalty, and the willingness to say what they think, and they're serving out of fear, not commitment to the mission.

Of course the chorus from the left is screaming Hegseth has to go, calling him a national security threat,  and for the uninformed and misinformed, that may have some play, but for those who know about things, that's not why they're outraged, it ain't gonna happen, especially when it's coming from the greatest national security threat the nation really faces, the Democrat party.

So, let's try and get this right.  Leaks at the highest levels is not now, nor has it ever been, the exception.  It's the rule, and every President in my life has expressed outrage over them.  Years ago I read, The Prince of Darkness: 50 Years Reporting, by now passed Washington journalist Bob Novak, who I met by the way, where he openly discussed how leaks are as ubiquitous in Washington as rain is in April.

So, if that's true, and it is, what are they really so outraged about?  Hegseth's cleaning house, and they want it stopped!  He's purging the politicized ranking officers that embraced the idiocy of DEI that Obama and Biden put in place, and did so by purging real officers who believed the military isn't a social experiment, it's a fighting machine.  And they're cleaning up the military academies.   As Susan Quinn notes:

It’s going to be hard work because the rot is deep, and the Democrats are fighting the changes, but it needs to be done if we’re to have a strong military leadership.  For years, our military has been on a path to wokeness and weakness. Expecting our soldiers to be warriors was anathema to the diversity, equity, and inclusion goal. And now we have reaped the pathetic outcomes of a military that is ill-prepared to protect our country and serve its people.  President Trump is determined, with the hard work of Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, to turn this situation around. They know, as do the officials from the academies, that it will be hard work......

Make no mistake, as long as Hegseth is following the plan outlined by the President, he's gonna stay, because if he can be ousted by all this hysterical nonsense from the media and the left, no one will be safe, he will never get anyone to take that job and do what needs to be done.

Pete Hegseth Is In, and It's Going to Hit the Fan!

By Rich Kozlovich

Image

On Friday, November 29, 2024 I published this piece, What About Pete?, which was hit really hard showing me this was a topic that really resonated with America.  Then on Thursday, January 16, 2025 I published, How Did Pete Hegseth Do?, both of which outline who and what Pete Hegseth was and is, along with his qualifications, which are impressive, and the hypocrisy of his detractors, so I won't be repeating all that here, it's done already, so take a look for yourself.

Now Pete Hegseth has been confirmed as Secretary of Defense but that only happened because V.P. Vance was able to break the tie.  Mitch McConnell, Lisa Murkowski, Susan Collins voted no.  Murkowski went on about how impressive Hegseth was but in good conscience had to vote no, but didn't explain how he offended her conscience.   What kind of stupid answer is that?

As far as I can tell Collins hasn't explained her vote, but one conservative writer Christopher Chantrill in his article What was the Real Problem with Pete Hegseth? explains why, at least in his view, Sens. Lisa Murkowski, and Susan Collins voted no.  They just "gotta go with the cool girls, and all the cool girls are Democrats."

The cool girls, like Fauxocahontas Elizabeth Warren, Patty Murray,  and Mazie Keiko Hirono, you know..... the cool girls.... who went on about his character, all of whom thought he was too seriously flawed to be SecDef.

Murkowski and Collins at least didn't play that card.  While playing that card in times past played well for the Dems, it's all worn out now and most on the right no longer care to hear it.  But that tactic is ingrained in the Democrat play book and they can't discard it because that's all they have, along with a corrupt media support.  But that's going down the drain soon.

  1. Alinsky 101: NBC Runs Hegseth Hit Piece Despite Ex-Wife Debunking Accusation
  2. How the NBC News Hit Piece Against Pete Hegseth Just Got Worse, But Not in the Way You Think
  3. ‘This Isn’t Journalism’: GOP Sen. Bill Hagerty Blasts Propaganda Media’s Smear Campaign Against Pete Hegseth

Actually, we should be shocked the left cares.  Remember when Clinton was President the leftist meme from the Democrats was "character doesn't count"?  Those on the right never agreed with that, but we've seen Trump perform remarkably, in spite of all his character flaws, but corruption isn't one of them, and let's not kid ourselves there has never been more corrupt Presidents than Clinton and Biden, right along with the biggest criminal enterprise in America, the Democrat party.  I'm also inclined to think the thing these two really all have in common with the "cool girls" is they're all old, and dumb.  But wait....there's more!  I'll tell you what, we'll come back to that!

Mitch McConnell who refuses to be interviewed over his vote did release an idiotic statement that should make everyone realize just how corrupt he is, remember, Ole Mitch had no problem voting to confirm Lloyd Austin, Merrick Garland and Pete Buttigieg.

McConnell is Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense, and I gotta tell ya, it's my view his vote stinks of self-interested corruption, and I think Christopher Chantrill's article pretty much confirms that as he gets into what's really going on behind the scenes saying:

........."government, in general, is there to provide jobs for Barnacles and Stiltstockings, as described by Charles Dickens way back in 1857."...........According to this notion, the State Department is there to hand out jobs to educated foreign policy analysts. Environmental programs are there to provide jobs for educated environmentalists. Grants to NGOs are there to provide jobs for lefty activists. Grants to universities are there to provide jobs for lefty academics.  So, the Department of Defense is there to hand out goodies to warfighters and veterans............ Pete Hegseth ............ [is] not going to send money to Democratic supporters like the rest of the federal government.........the Democratic Party’s war on Pete Hegseth was a result of careful expert analysis of his 2020 book American Crusade: Our Fight to Stay Free. Here is a quote:

NATO is not an alliance; it’s a defense arrangement for Europe, paid for and underwritten by the United States [and it should be] scrapped and remade in order for freedom to be truly defended............The defense of Europe is not our problem; been there, done that, twice.

For those who are regular readers of P&D you know I'm in total agreement with that. The era is over.  We can no longer afford to police the world........"for everyone else's benefit".  Before America gets involved in any foreign interdiction one question must always be asked.  How does this benefit America as a nation and a culture, and not just the big international corporations in America who are in reality traitorous co-conspirators with the World Economic Forum and other multinational organizations.

Involvement in this Russo/Ukrainian War does not benefit America.  Europe brought this on themselves, let them fix it, or not.  We have no skin in that game.  None of this was our fault, nor our responsibility, and it's costing the nation hundreds of billions of dollars and weakening our own national defense in support of a completely corrupt dictatorial government that had Joe Biden and his crime family in their pockets.

What this is really all about with all the RINO's is the big money to be made by keeping America at war, and it's long overdue for there to be a public outcry demanding an open debate about America's involvement in NATO and the United Nations.  All the Democrats voted against Hegseth because they were commanded to do so, and like the good little Stalinists they are, they obeyed. The argument that the three RINO senators voted against Pete Hegseth was because of NATO has legs, hard to prove, but credible.   It’s much easier to question character than have an open debate about the relevance of NATO in the 21st century.

The reality is America is going to stop wasting American lives and American wealth for the dubious benefit of others.  If America does anything it will be because it directly benefits America.   Trump gets it!  Bretton Woods is over! We don't need them, they need us, and watch as these nations fall into line, just as Mexico and other Latin American states have.

His character isn't what bothered anyone, it's his views on what the military is supposed to be all about, and being used for social experimentation isn't one of them.  His priorities are "a focus on lethality, meritocracy, accountability, standards, and readiness."  All of which the Democrats hate insanely.

He's already put down the hammer on DEI at U.S. Department of Defense, and "those who do not comply" are fired.  The Air Force is shutting down DEI schemes.  When you see the highest ranks in the military saying "they're willing to work "with"' the President", that makes it abundantly clear clear there needs to be a serious attitude adjustment at the Pentagon, and I think that means saying "You're Fired".  There's nothing like a good firing to get everyone's head on right, and I think Hegseth can deliver.

But there are a number of RINO's and war hawks in the Senate like Senator Thom Tillis who was secretly working behind the scenes to sabotage Pete Hegseth encouraging former sister-in-law Danielle Hegseth, who was once married to his brother, claims he abused his ex-wife Samantha, all of which Samantha refutes.

War hawk Lindsey Graham voted for him, and my guess is they know Trump isn't going to take no for an answer, and have no desire to challenge him on his cabinet picks.  They see a man committed, unrelenting, and no matter how polite he may be, he will punish them in the future just as he's done with former members of his administration who turned on him.  I think Tillis is in trouble no matter what now.

What's ahead is going to be like a fun roller coaster ride with a lot of ups and downs, but it will be entertaining.

How Did Pete Hegseth Do?

Democrats think Pete Hegseth is really weird.  Imagine that!

By Rich Kozlovich

<

On Friday, November 29, 2024 I published this piece, What About Pete?, and it was hit a whole lot more than I expected.  That meant to me Pete Hegseth as SecDef was an issue that resonated with the nation.  And now after his hearing we should ask:  How did Pete Hegseth perform?

He was greeted by a round of applause as he entered the chamber, and gave his opening remarks, with interruptions from Democrat activists, was questioned over allegations of "sexual assault, alcoholism, and mishandling of finances", which he had to respond to over and over again as Senators keep repeating what Sen. Jim Banks called BS anonymous accusations, and as for their claims about his drinking habits, Sen. Markwayne Mullin called his accusers hypocrites asking  ‘How Many Senators Have Showed Up Drunk to Vote at Night’.

Hegseth came out swinging against what he called, and I think legitimately so, an orchestrated smear campaign the Pravda media threw up against him saying:

“A small handful of anonymous sources were allowed to drive a smear campaign and agenda about me, because our left wing media in America today, sadly, doesn’t care about the truth. All they were out to do [was] to destroy me. And why do they want to destroy me? Because I’m a change agent and a threat to them, because Donald Trump was willing to choose me, to empower me, to bring the Defense Department back to what it really should be, which is war fighting,”

As for this blatantly false issue of racism, and White Supremacy being rampant in the military, he dealt with that easily and intelligently, which must have driven the Democrats crazy and they acted that way with double standards, manufactured outrage and smears.  That's all the Democrats have, and that's all they offered.

  • Sen. Mark Kelly claims he doesn't have the qualifications to be SecDef, and repeats all the smears, which were repeated regularly.
  • Senator Mazie Hirono who has no fear her membership in the Club For the Galacticly Stupid will be revoked.
  •  Tim Kaine’s line of questioning indicates he has a strong foundational Judaic/Christian moral code, except he was running to be Hillary's Vice President, so that confirms the only time leftists think that code is of value is when they can use it against their adversaries.
  • Gillibrand lost her mind outraged that Pete wouldn't want mothers serving on the front lines.
  • Pocahontas Warren looked like a fool and was roundly laughed at by the audience.
  • The one I really liked best was stolen valor Senator Blumenthal who claims Pete is so unqualified,’ it’s almost a ‘joke’.

So, according to the stolen valor Senator a 44 year old ... legitimate....combat veteran officer,  serving in Iraq and Afghanistan was "a joke" who:

Earned the "Bronze Star.[he's authorized] to wear the Joint Service Commendation Medal, two Army Commendation Medals, three Army Reserve Components Achievement Medals, the National Defense Service Medal with a Bronze Service Star, an Afghanistan Campaign Medal with two campaign stars, an Iraq Campaign Medal with two campaign stars, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal with “M” Device, the Army Service Ribbon, two Overseas Service Ribbons, the D.C. National Guard Emergency Service Ribbon, a NATO Medal, a Joint Meritorious Unit Award, a Combat Infantryman Badge, and an Expert Infantryman Badge.

A  retired a major, who refers to himself as a recovering neocon now believing invading Iraq was a mistake with critical insights on weapons procurement, training, DEI insanity, planning, and more.

But according to Blumenthal he's "a joke".  Blumenthal was a military disgrace, he's a disgrace as a Senator and as a human being.   As Patricia McCarthy argues, Democrats on the Armed Services Committee have seriously humiliated themselves, saying:

All the Democrats on that panel disgraced themselves.  Each came with a planned attack, their scripts filled with smears that have been debunked and hypotheticals that had no bearing on defense policy.  They hammered him with personal attacks, disparaged his rather spectacular résumé, and asked questions that they then refused to let him answer.  They were all about getting sound bites for the likes of Joy Reid and Rachel Maddow on MSNBC, who never care about facts or the truth.  Their plan was to humiliate and destroy him despite his obvious qualifications. What they actually did, however, was show their own true colors.  This is a cabal of contemptible people.

It's well known that rules are just for Republicans, not for Democrats, so they tried to change the hearing rules to accommodate their schemes.  That dog just won't hunt now, but what must have really made them nuts is when Hegseth's FBI background check was submitted to the Senate it contained one word that must have crushed their most ardent dream of destroying him.  That word was, “unremarkable.”

On the other hand what we saw in his favor was "remarkable".   Hundreds of Navy SEAL, veterans, Green Berets, and other branches marched to D.C. to publicly support him.  He's considered to be an incredibly talented, battle-proven leader’, whereas there's absolutely no excuse for the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal General Austin oversaw.  An absolute failure as SecDef the entire Democrat party praises even now.

America’s military is in trouble and the reason for that is the left has infected the military with a "focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion" which openly and deliberately  works at:

"reducing the number of white male officers a priority. Racial quotas not only damage the ability of the military to promote the best and brightest to the highest ranks, but they also demoralize those who either didn’t get a promotion and those who serve under commanders who they may now wonder whether or not they got their positions on their merits."

Noel Wiliams asks, "Who has come out looking better: the future SecDef, or the intemperate senators who grilled him? "

What About Pete?

By Rich Kozlovich

Pete Hegseth has been nominated as Secretary of Defense by Donald Trump, but that giant of intellectual wherewithal, Whoopie Goldberg, has declared Hegseth "clearly knows nothing about the military", and Whoopie absolutely knows all about the military because she played a bar tender on Star Trek, like OAC was a bar tender after graduating cum laude from Boston University in 2011 with a bachelor's degree in international relations and economics.  And she could only get a job as a bartender?  Odd, don't you think?

At any rate, while Whoopie wasn't a member of Star Fleet in that show, and of course it really wouldn't have matter anyway because none of that was real, but hey, let's not get picky!  Right?   After all, that's Whoopie's job to be picky, so, let's take a look and see if Whoopie knows what she's talking about.

Hegseth is 44, a combat veteran, commissioned as an officer in the Minnesota Army National Guard joining in 2002 serving in Iraq and Afghanistan.

He twice earned the "Bronze Star, [he's authorized] to wear the Joint Service Commendation Medal, two Army Commendation Medals, three Army Reserve Components Achievement Medals, the National Defense Service Medal with a Bronze Service Star, an Afghanistan Campaign Medal with two campaign stars, an Iraq Campaign Medal with two campaign stars, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal with “M” Device, the Army Service Ribbon, two Overseas Service Ribbons, the D.C. National Guard Emergency Service Ribbon, a NATO Medal, a Joint Meritorious Unit Award, a Combat Infantryman Badge, and an Expert Infantryman Badge.

He retired as a major, and refers to himself as a recovering neocon now believing invading Iraq was a mistake.  He has critical insights on weapons procurement, training, DEI insanity, planning, and more.  But Whoopi says he "clearly knows nothing about the military".

She must have used the same logic when she said Jill Biden was a great doctor and should have been made Surgeon General.  Jill Biden's degree was in education, not medicine.

To be a leftist requires massive mental capacity.  Why?  To justify their irrational views, and twisted logic must require unparalleled mental gymnastics. Fortunately, they're so obviously nuts, ordinary people with ordinary mental capacity can see through it all.  But that's not a deterrent to the left.  They lie, they know they lie, we know they lie, and they know we know they lie, and the brilliant conclusion these mental giants on the left come to is since everyone knows it all a lie, it isn't really a lie after all.  Ergo, why stop lying?

Gaetz was defeated as Attorney General even before he left the gate, and the claim is he knew he was guilty of something and couldn't face the music.  He said the Justice Department investigated him and didn't charge him, and if he was guilty, he'd be in jail now.   So why did he quit?  There were five Republican Senators who absolutely said they would not vote for him, three of whom thought Merritt Garland was perfectly acceptable, all five of which need to be primaried when their time comes.

As for releasing the House Ethics Committee report on him, which are usually filled with unsubstantiated claims..... he said, she said stuff.   But, I'm all for it, provided they release all the ethics reports, which have hidden all the provable vile antics of many of those in Congress, especially in those cases where government money was used to silence their accusers.

So now they're going to go after Pete Hegseth, and Tulsi Gabbard, which in her case I have to wonder how did she made the journey across the aisle from adoring Bernie Sanders to becoming a MAGA fan.   Just a thought mind you.

Know you're friends by their enemies, and Hegseth has all the right enemies.

CNN's Van Jones Explodes Over Trump’s Defense Secretary Pick because he thinks the military needs no correction, and he's a military expert?  He's a political analyst, media personality, lawyer, author, and civil rights advocate.  Actually, that's what he's paid for, but in reality he's just another a race baiting hustler, with no military credentials or experience, so he's just doing what he does best.  The race baiting hustle,  and Lloyd Austin is no better.  And he's not alone in the military or Department of Defense, which is filled with:

.......[a] regime of left-wing four-star generals and DoD lackeys [which] has produced one of the most disastrous tenures in the Pentagon's history. We've had spy balloons flying over the entire continental United States. We had the Afghanistan withdrawal disaster, which cost the lives of 13 American servicemembers and became a stain on the nation's history. Russia invaded Europe during the last four years while China and Iran have seen a resurgence in power and influence. The Middle East is the most unstable it has been since the end of Trump's first term.

Then we have Fauxcahontas, Elisabeth Warren, "who stole a job from a legitimate minority at Harvard" declaring he would make the military unsafe.  A military which is focused on DEI insanity, climate change, and electrifying America’s military forces is going to be unsafe if Hegseth is confirmed?  Really?  There's more, and it seems likely all these panicked voices may be connected to Obama, who "has been running a shadow presidency since he left the White House in January 2017."

The Democrats/socialists/communists and DEI misfits scream he's not qualified, it's racism, white privilege, he's too young, he's a media guy.  Well, he's 44, he has excellent military experience and performance, a lot of media people have migrated into administrations in the past, and I really don't care if black race hustlers are upset he's going to fire a DEI general, and probably a lot of white ones.  After all, considering the disaster of the Afghanistan pull out, who are they to criticize anyone?   It's time to eliminate DEI in the military and demand MEI, Merit, Excellence, and Intelligence.

This brings me to the rape scandal, a vile and unending tactic by the left.  While he admits to a sexual liaison with this woman he claims it was consensual, and it was she who was the "aggressor" and there's video evidence to that, which is all confirmed in the police report.  The only crime committed here looks like is an effort at extortion by this woman.

This kind of thing no longer has the impact it did in times past.  The Establishment’s Scandal Scam Tactics Won’t Work Anymore.  The Pravda media cares little for the truth, they only care about framing an innocent man and destroying him for political purposes, and it's just not working any longer.

He has his defenders also.  Scott Jennings tore into Pentagon leadership, he called him an 'American Hero', and Bill Ackman says he will be a revolutionary leader for the military, GOP Senators Express Confidence in Hegseth’s Confirmation, and I agree.   I just hate the tattoos.
